From May 22nd to June 5th, the Portuguese Air Force will host the multinational exercises RealThaw and HotBlade at Air Base n.º 11 in Beja. 

The exercises will take place simultaneously and will have the participation of air assets from Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, France and Romenia. The action will take place from north to south of the country and has more than 30 air assets. 

The objective of these exercises is to increase the interoperability of operations by exposing participating forces to a complex environment in which they can train techniques, tactics and procedures, preparing them for current scenarios of conflict and humanitarian support missions. 

This year, for the first time, HotBlade takes place under the character of the Multinational Helicenter Training Centre (MHTC), based at Air Base N.º 1, in Sintra.
