First Week of NTM2025: Strengthening Joint Capabilities

The first week of NATO Tiger Meet 2025 (NTM2025) has come to an end, the international exercise created to promote cooperation and interoperability among the participating Forces.

NTM2025 provides operational training of excellence, ensuring that the participating Squadrons can acquire new knowledge, experiences and skills while training in a safe environment.

During the first week of the exercise, several types of missions were conducted, such as DCA (Defensive Counter Air), AEW (Airborne Early Warning), ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Heli Escort, Heli Tat, AI (Air Interdiction), OCA (Offensive Counter Air), AAR (Air-to-Air Refuelling), CAS (Close Air Support), DT (Dynamic Targeting), OPFOR (Opposing Force), EW (Electronic Warfare), TAT (Technical Assistance Team), SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defence), ACM (Air Combat Manoeuvring), BFM (Basic Fighter Manoeuvres) and CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue).

These missions allow the maximisation of operational training in demanding, multi-domain scenarios, including the space domain, generating an environment of trust among participants that enables the improvement of techniques, tactics and procedures.

The Air Force thus seeks to innovate by integrating space operations into an exercise in Portugal for the first time, in order to reinforce situational awareness in mission planning across all domains.

It should be recalled that NTM2025 will run until 3 October, with the participation of 12 nations and NATO assets.
