Air Force joins team of assessors in SismEx’25 exercise

Four members of the Air Force joined the team of assessors for the SismEx'25 exercise, which took place yesterday, 5 November, in the municipality of Benavente.

The team, composed of military personnel specialising in Assistance and Rescue Systems and a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician from the Air Force Inspectorate General and the Shooting Range, contributed their technical knowledge to validate the actions and procedures to be carried out in the drill.

Organised by the Benavente Municipal Civil Protection Service, the exercise was based on the national initiative ‘A Terra Treme’ (The Earth Trembles), which aims to raise awareness among the population of the behaviours and self-protection measures to be adopted in the event of a real earthquake.

SismEx'25 tested the response capacity of 19 organisations and more than 47 internal plans, involving a total of 8,000 participants and 110 members in coordination and evaluation.

The Air Force's participation in this exercise reinforces the institution's commitment to safety and resilience, actively contributing to better preparation and coordination in real emergency scenarios.
