In a gesture of solidarity and commitment to the community, military personnel from Transit Aerodrome No. 1 (AT1) in Portela visited the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation to donate blood.
Aware of the vital importance of this act, the military personnel wanted to contribute to strengthening national blood reserves and, at the same time, encourage others to do the same. Blood donation is a simple gesture, but one with a profound impact.
At AT1, this is a practice that is intended to become a regular occurrence, reinforcing the spirit of mutual aid and service that characterises the Armed Forces. Several military personnel from the unit are already regular donors and encourage their comrades, family and friends to follow suit.
Even in small units, it is possible to make big gestures. And when the example comes from those who serve the country, the impact is even greater.
