Two more A-29N Super Tucanos on Portuguese soil

Today, 8 November, at 1:22 p.m., two more A-29N Super Tucano aircraft landed on Portuguese soil to be delivered to the Air Force in the future.

The transatlantic flight between Brazil and Portugal was accompanied by a P-3C Cup+ Orion aircraft from Squadron 601 – ‘Lobos’, with stops in Fernando Noronha, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, after having begun their journey on Thursday, 6 November.

The two A-29N Super Tucano aircraft landed in Alverca, where they will undergo a process at OGMA to adapt them to the configurations required by the Air Force, joining the first three aircraft that arrived at the end of August.

It should be noted that Portugal acquired 12 A-29N Super Tucano aircraft from Embraer for advanced pilot training and close air support missions for joint and/or combined operations.
