The Portuguese Air Force took part in the celebrations of the 51st Anniversary of the Armed Forces General Staff (Estado-Maior-General das Forças Armadas – EMGFA), held on November 8th and 9th in Vila Viçosa, alongside the commemoration of Constable Nuno Álvares Pereira, Saint Nuno of Saint Mary, whose feast day is celebrated annually on November 6th.
Throughout the two days, the Air Force participated in several key moments, including the Military Ceremony, which featured an Air Force formation, as well as a performance by the Portuguese Air Force Band.
The event also included the launch of the book “50 Years of EMGFA (a visual retrospective documenting half a century of the history of the Portuguese Armed Forces)”, a concert by the Navy Band together with a traditional Alentejo choral group, a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Bishop of the Armed and Security Forces, D. Sérgio Dinis, and the traditional Military Ceremony.
