REALTHAW | HOTBLADE

 

The skies over Beja will soon be very busy. This year, Air Base No. 11 in Beja is simultaneously hosting two multinational exercises. 

From May 22 to June 5, RealThaw 2024 and HotBlade 2024 will put into practice the techniques, tactics and procedures of national and international forces in order to enhance interoperability between participants.

HOTBLADE 2024 

Hot Blade 2024 (HB24) is a helicopter exercise organized by the Portuguese Air Force which, for the first time, is being held under the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre (MHTC), based at Air Base No. 1 in Sintra.

HB24 will take place from Air Base No. 11, in Beja, and aims to increase the interoperability of operations between participants, exposing the forces taking part in the exercise to a complex operational environment in which they can train techniques, tactics and procedures, preparing them for a current theaters of conflict and humanitarian support missions.

REALTHAW 2024   

The Air Force is strongly committed to creating an operational environment where participants can carry out a high-level tactical exercise to maximize integration, interoperability and learning, continuing to prepare and qualify its forces for full mission accomplishment and to guarantee the public interest and international missions assigned to it, with maximum security and efficiency.

This multidisciplinary exercise aims to enhance joint training and provide participants with a wide range of tactical missions, with the intention of sharing knowledge, increasing integration, promoting innovation and strengthening ties between NATO partners.
