The individual events of the 58th Military World Cross Country took place yesterday, October 12, at Air Base No. 11, in Beja.
In the men's 10 km event, Kenya won first place with Edmon Kiprgetich, with a time of 30 minutes and 36 seconds, who finished ahead of Albert Rop and Dawit Adamasu both from Bahrain. The men's competition had 109 participants, including six Portuguese.
In the women's 8 km race, the podium was entirely conquered by Bahrain, the winner being the athlete Winfred Yavi with a time of 27 minutes and 23 seconds, followed by Bontu Rebitu and Violah Kilonzo. In this competition, which brought together 87 athletes, Portugal was also represented by six athletes.
