The first day of flights began in the RealThaw and HotBlade 2024 exercises. Between 10:15 am and 10:00 pm, the participating forces operating from Air Base No. 11, in Beja, began testing their limits in different missions.

Fighter planes were heard on missions in support of ground forces with the Mirage 2000, from the French air force, the EF-2000, from the Spanish air force and the L-159, from the Czech air force, taking action.

The helicopters carried out “Fam Ride” flights, testing fast rope and rappel procedures with ground forces teams.

Until June 5th, these two multinational exercises will take place simultaneously, with a view to preparing for real conflict scenarios.
